John Manno
John Manno (b. 1951) is a photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. He began his career in New York’s commercial photography world, establishing his own studio in 1977 and producing work for magazines and design clients over several decades.
Alongside this practice, he has developed a sustained body of personal work centered on still life and constructed imagery. His series Misbegotten Places explores imagined environments built from his own photographs, combining physical construction with photographic precision.
His work has been exhibited widely in galleries and juried exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including the Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca in Romania and the London Photo Contest, where he received a top award.
He is the founder and director of Decagon Gallery.
